Again, spearheading another big event on our area.
Once again, the international game development event “Global Game Jam” will be happening this January 24-26, 2014 – 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Like the previous years, we expecting hundreds of participants from Schools, Colleges, Universities around Luzon. 3 days collaboration of Students, Proffesionals, Hobbyist & Game Dev Companies from around world, and to those who are lucky (skilled enough), projects/clients are awaiting. For more information please see clsuggj & globalgamejam.org
Project 3D: Sculpturing a base mesh “mold/stencil” for a product “Rattle Stick” -an American “Deer Hunters” newest/upcoming tool 🙂
3D sculpting is really an intensive task to do, it requires “keenest” eyes & a tons of “brains” for problem solving. Imagine an IGS Nurbs from SOLIDWORKS to a high poly mesh 3D model, eats up tons of CPU/GPU/Memory to accomplished.
And also sleepless nights 🙂
Tools: 3D Max, Maya, Blender, Mudbox, Sculptris & many more 🙂
I saw this great artwork of a cool artist Guile De Guzman a CLSU student, with extremely got an eye for such kind of artworks. And by the look of those cool sketches, i got excited and wanna make those great creations move and “bring it to life”. I am now planning for a good game play for it.. Then Sir Ian Clarito Dacumos and Jim Carlo (also CLSU student pops in to help out)… I got more excited…
I will post the updates and ofcourse the great artwork i saw… later…
Wow, simply nooby me – featured at Manila Game Jam website 🙂
Here’s the info:
Late last year, we were surprised to see another local Game Jam Site officially registered to participate on the Global Game Jam . Knowing that having another site would always be beneficial; preparation, coordination and setting up the event however is one tedious task. One brave soul had taken the initiative to start their own Jam and spread the Game Jam Spirit at Central Luzon.
Meet Art Polo Gabriel: He’s the Game Jam Organizer for CLSU Jam Site, and he had given us the opportunity to do this short interview.
November 30 – December 1, 2012
Topics:
> Web – Development, Trends & Issues
> 3D interactive interface development
> Workshop: Creation of St. Tonis College Inc. 3D virtual tour that will be interfaced to http://3dxploration.com/ soon (once completed)
It was a great experience providing & sharing tools for productivity to students & faculty of the College. Also, meeting people with a Good Samaritan behavior (Sir Efren Danag – i salute to you – for your hands on accommodation). The only thing that’s HECK is the LONG TRAVEL (almost 12-14 hours travel time – %^%&^$&%$) due to too many road crushed – i mean re-constructions.
Great news!!! Just have a talk with one of the coolest person in game development “Sir Gorm Lai” from Denmark, and we discussed about our participation is this Global Game Jam, and the outcome really is favorable to us – Global Game Jam – CLSU / artsdigitalmedia.com – APPROVED!!!

The Global Game Jam will be on January 25-27, 2013 – I applied for site to host a small group here in Central Luzon State University. Hoping that the GGJ people will let us join this world wide cool activity.
About GGJ
The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world’s largest game jam event. Think of it as a hackathon focused on game development. It is the growth of an idea that in today’s heavily connected world, we could come together, be creative, share experiences and express ourselves in a multitude of ways using video games – it is very universal. The weekend stirs a global creative buzz in games… while at the same time exploring the process of development, be it programming, iterative design, narrative exploration or artistic expression. It is all condensed into a 48 hour development cycle. Although the event is heavily focused on programming, there are many other areas where people who don’t code can contribute to a game.
