From the usual Android & IOS device up to Moverio & HoloLens SmartGlasses, me and my team are so happy that this is what we do every day, working on cool futuristic projects and not just imagining the future – we are actually one of the team of creating the future.
Augmented Reality & Virtual Reality is actually making its way soon to the masses, specially the device manufacturers are doing all they can to bring it low cost with hi-quality hardware.
Another toy? Yes, and its also another device that will be used for RnD, also for RENT on events. Finally got it and team will be dissecting it. Our plan is to integrate NoloVR to other devices such as PSVR, Brain Control, HoloLens, etc. to make more cool VR, AR, MR, XR Apps. Watch out on our up coming apps for this cool device 🙂
Participants enjoyed all the technologies we showcased such as the EPSON Moverio SmartGlass, Microsoft’s HoloLens, Brain Control, Playstation VR, Oculus RIft, 360 Camera, etc) on the Augmented Reality & Virtual Reality for Business activity by ARPH & SmartGlassDevPH. Many thanks to EPSON Philippines for sponsoring and also to Blastasia Inc. for the support.
The outcome of the event is a success as participant companies became collaborator and looking into a partnership for long term ventures.
Augmented Reality (AR) is getting bigger than expected and its users specially the mobile users are getting a hand of it so easily. Simply downloading Apps from either the playstore or appstore (or any other resources). There are actually tons of great AR Apps already available out there.
Though there’s something not so yet stable – the WEB AR. Yah there’s AR.JS, JSARToolKit, trackingJS, AWe, Etc. that somehow works but still limited in terms of the following:
Marker design is still the QR code alike which is not so good in branding
The marker is so sensitive and should be seen in full before augmented objects will show
The marker is very limited on skew & rotation making the augmented objects disappear from time to time if the skew limit is reached.
Some web AR tracking only do 2D tracking
Non of it works on mobile (or very limited on mobile)
Also, most people uses google chrome or firefox to view websites, social networking sites, etc. And users specially bloggers uses wordpress, joomla, drupal, and other web CMS.
The missing link is – “How can a user create an AR experience and connect it to his/her website by simply providing a linked”, “How can users share AR easily – its best by using the web or socialmedia site and just provide link to the AR experience”.
My solution 🙂 – introducing OPEN Augmented Reality
OpenAR – is a platform where AR will be easily accessible by user as it is web enabled allowing users to just create an AR experience (drag & drop) and share it using a URL link that he/she will post on his/her website, social networking wall/page, then the other users will just click the link and voila “AR experience” will be shown (without downloading another AR App on their mobile phone or desktop)
A “dead simple” scheme that will make everything easy for everyone to experience Augmented Reality (later Virtual & Mixed Reality)
One of the biggest trend nowadays is the Augmented Reality technology and most of the software providers are into it – Microsoft, Google, Apple, Facebook & Etc. And we are so lucky that Flaunt360 orientation and simple launch will be included in this event – so join in now!

And so i saw “HoloLens Hackathon” info and somehow think of what if i join. Well i used to do hackathon then (around 2009 – 2014) and somehow still didn’t won any of it hehe. Well, its not that the idea / product is way too bad, but its more like devices aren’t ready yet for the idea because it requires a device that can do SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) perfectly. And so – HoloLens came. And luckily we are one of the first filipino to get a hand of the device and somehow able to create/develop apps for it.
There are tons of great HoloLens Apps already out there – so it will be a super challenging competition, actually nothing else you can think of that is still not created yet for HoloLens.
It’s way too cool to work on HoloLens 🙂 Its let us further see future and make’s us feel so gifted (well yah the next generation will have this tech @ home and everywhere but today it is still a bit limited due to the device cost hehe). Aside from that making App for this futuristic device is quite a pride too 🙂
